ACTION

We are thinking about the future with children through the following six main activities.

LIBRARY

1. The Children’s Conference of the Future in Support of the United Nations

Overview

The Children’s Conference of the Future in Support of the United Nations is a place of peace communication where children from around the world gather to talk about a peaceful and prosperous world centered on the SDGs. The program was launched as an official program of the 2019 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We are expanding the scope of our activities, mainly by developing content for exchanging opinions on SDG topics, but also by including entertainment content.
Currently, this program is supported by the Children and Families Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and received official title recognition from the United Nations in February 2023.

2. Eco Idea Contest

Overview

In cooperation with the FUJISANKEI COMMUNICATIONS GROUP, which operates The Grand Prize for the Global Environment Award, we are holding an idea contest on the theme of protecting the global environment.
High school students from around the country will be invited to submit ideas via video, and finalists will present their ideas at the event.

3. Peace Communication FORUM

Overview

“BEYOND 2020 NEXT FORUM” is a place to think and share on what is needed to energize Japan in 2020 and beyond by keeping the legacy of the “Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games” alive.
We will work to create new “things” and “concepts” led by our members, who are experts in the fields of diversity, innovation, startups, and entertainment, and more.

4. SDGs Next Generation Entertainment

Overview

We are promoting activities to create content with entertainment networks that have been derived from and or cooperated with the BEYOND 2020 NEXT FORUM.
The themes encompass music, art, sports, and more, and in 2023, the children collaborated with artist MIYAVI to create a project theme song. We plan to continue implementing projects focusing on activities related to art and sports.

5. SDGs Learning Curriculum

Overview

This is one of the SDGs peace communication projects developed under the “BEYOND 2020 NEXT FORUM” theme of “Next Generation Human Resource Education.” Classes centered around the SDGs are offered for children in cooperation with supporting professionals.
The project is implemented in elementary and junior high schools nationwide.

Lectures and workshops focused on the theme of SDGs’ “sustainable work” are organized in cooperation with the Global Consolidated Research Institute for Science Wisdom at Waseda University where a range of educational curriculums, such as having discussions with children about food loss, are implemented.

6. Giving Children Dreams through the Dream Extracurricular Lecture

Overview

The “Dream Extracurricular Lecture” is a program that invites prominent figures from various fields into elementary and junior high schools as lecturers to share their experiences and knowledge with students, aiming to allow them the opportunity to experience the talents these individuals have. The program is being developed to inspire children and help them develop their dreams and goals.
